This morning we met with Luis Hernandez at Vida Barber Lounge. This visit was very special to our program, as Luis was a student in our 2nd year of CEO! When he was in the program he talked about his dream to open a barber shop, and this fall we were able to see that dream come true right here in Austin! This truly speaks to what CEO is all about. Students were able to hear about the ups and downs he has experienced and the hard work he has put in to get to where he is today. Luis shared about the impact that many had on him including his parents, his mentors along the way, and the community of Austin.

Luis emphasized some key points:
✂️Creating a positive working environment where all get along is important to creating a positive climate for staff and guests.
✂️Climate and experience are important. Luis wants to create a place that people want to be, where they walk in and things feel natural.
✂️Marketing is the key to getting people to come in. He uses social media to heavily promote Vida Barber Lounge and sees the impact it has on his business.
✂️Austin is still growing and there is a lot of opportunity here.
