This morning we met with Tyler Hoff, Adam Johnson, Hailey Erstad, and Cody(chief comfort officer) at Worlein Hoff Funeral Home. Worlein has been in the Austin community since 1940’s and has an additional location in Blooming Prairie. Over the past year they also acquired , a location in Iowa, and the crematory in Austin.

Tyler was raised in a family that owned a funeral home and knew the business from a young age. He knew this was the direction he wanted to go and after attending The U of M, he worked for his family prior to purchasing Worlein.

A few key points:

- Their focus is on helping people which is important during emotional times for families.
- They offer supports after the services are all complete which help the family with some of the logistical items connected to someone’s passing.
- They shared that they must pay attention to details and have everything just right for families.
- Cody, their chief comfort officer, is present to support families and is just an extra added touch.
- They host some community events such Day of the Dead as a way to stay involved and support the community!
- They learned about the wide range of costs based on funeral options, the preplanning options which allow families to consider finances and allows for individuals to have a voice in their planning, and they were able to walk through the entire process with the funeral directors.
