Dr. Overby met with us Thursday morning at Overby Orthodontics. Many of our students have visited Overby Orthodontics for their orthodontic needs, but today they got to learn a lot more about the business aspect. Dr. Overby shared that he became interested in dentistry at a young age as his dad was a dentist. He went to dental school for four years and then orthodontics school for two more years. He also joined the Navy and served for three years. He completed his orthodontics work and was approached about taking over his current practice, so he moved to Austin in 2000.

Students were able to tour the office and learn about many aspects of the business. . They were able to see the process of scanning teeth, learned about different reasons people visit and the viewed X-rays for understanding, and processes that were established during COVID that have had a positive impact on dental care.
